Video! Trump Congratulates Dana White During UFC 249 Broadcast

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) made its long-awaited return to action earlier tonight (Sat., May 9, 2020) to stage UFC 249 live on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) from inside VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida.

Prior to the ESPN “Prelims” portion of the card, a video was shown of President Donald Trump wishing the promotion and UFC president Dana White good luck in their return to the spotlight. Trump congratulated all involved and insisted that “we need sports back.”

Remember, UFC is the first major sports organization to return from quarantine as the world still recovers from the COVID-19 outbreak. UFC 249 is the promotion’s first event since hosting UFC Fight Night 170 back on March 14.
