Video: Daniel Cormier gives first-hand look of socially distanced UFC 249 arena layout
With UFC 249 officially underway, fans are able to see the action from inside the octagon in Jacksonville.
But what does the rest of the layout look like at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena? Former multi-time Daniel Cormier—who is on color commentary for the UFC’s return to action—laid it out via his Twitter account.
This is what @ufc 249 looks like. Tables apart. Very spaced out. Little different but it’s ok because the fights are back!!!!!!! LFG pic.twitter.com/PjnrDMkCio

The UFC also provided a tour from the cheap seats in the arena, which, of course, will be unoccupied throughout the event.

Despite Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza testing positive for COVID-19 on Friday, the event goes on with two world title fights. Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje will battle it out for the interim lightweight title, while Henry Cejudo will have his first defense of his bantamweight title against the returning Dominick Cruz.
The other 23 fighters who were scheduled to compete on the fight card had their COVID-19 tests come back negative.
UFC president Dana White was adamant heading into the event that the promotion would go “above and beyond” with health and safety protocols throughout the week. Between an immediate COVID-19 swab test upon arrival, daily medical screenings, to fighters having their own personal workout rooms, it’s clear the promotion has made health and safety a top priority.
