UFC Vegas 5 video: Jonathan Martinez batters Frankie Saenz before highlight-reel finish
Frankie Saenz refused to make it easy for Jonathan Martinez to stop him. But eventually, he could only take so much punishment.
After a near-finish in the second, Martinez closed out the show with a leaping knee as he backpedaled from the charging Saenz, setting in motion a mercifully timed TKO 57 seconds into the final frame.
Check out the finish below.

Saenz did his best to get Martinez’s respect, banking heavily on his overhand right and charging takedown attempts. But as the fight went on, Martinez nullified his opponent’s best weapons and led with his, tenderizing the body with repeated front kicks to the body. Saenz was visibly hurt by the repeated attacks to his flank, and then the kicks when upstairs, sending him teetering to the mat at the end of the second.

Martinez might have gotten the stoppage there were it not for Saenz’s toughness. But it didn’t take long for him to land the telling blow in the third.
Afterward, Martinez apologized for missing weight and added, “It’s something I’ve been having trouble with, but we’ll get it.” The win put him back in the right foot after a split call loss to Andre Ewell.
Saenz now has lost back-to-back fights in the octagon after a TKO loss to Marlon Vera in his previous outing.
