Ask and you shall receive. A hard-hitting Heavyweight bout between Derrick Lewis and Curtis Blaydes has been booked to headline an upcoming UFC Fight Night event, which expected to go down on November 28, 2020 at a location that is yet-to-be determined.

That’s according to ESPN’s Brett Okamato, who brought word of the big man booking.

The two men have been going at one other through the media, with Blaydes claiming that “Black Beast” was doing his best to avoid fighting him, while Lewis was adamant he was the one who kept asking for the match up, only to be turned down by UFC matchmakers.

Nevertheless, the time for accusing one another of ducking will come to an end as the two hard-hitting big men will collide in the center of the cage, quite possibly for the right to face the winner of the inevitable title fight between division king, Stipe Miocic, and Francis Ngannou.

Or this man.

Lewis is fresh off a record-breaking knockout win over Aleksei Oleinik at UFC on Vegas 6 a few weeks ago, giving him his third straight victory, all stoppages. Blaydes, meanwhile, is also coming off a huge win after out-wrestling Alexander Volkov at UFC on ESPN 11 a couple months ago.

Despite the victory being his fourth in a row, it didn’t do much to endear him to UFC president Dana White, who stated after the fight that “Razor” was nowhere near a title fight after putting up a dull performance when he spent the week prior complaining about fighter pay. Undeterred, Blaydes continued to truck along and stood firm in his stance.

That being said, should Curtis take out Lewis — with wrestling or other — there is no justifiable way the promotion can deny the big man of his first-ever shot at realizing his championship dreams inside the Octagon. On the flip side, Lewis can very well get another title shot after falling short in his bid to dethrone Daniel Cormier at UFC 230 in mid-2018.

We’re still a few months away from fight night, but it’s never too early to give us your predictions in the comments section below!
