Frankie Edgar will finally make his long-awaited Bantamweight debut this Sat. night (Aug. 22, 0220) when he faces Pedro Munhoz in the main event of UFC Vegas 7 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight champion of the world was set to face Cory Sandhagen previously before he was yanked from the bout to face Chang Sung Jung at 145 pounds. He was then pegged to face Munhoz at UFC 251 last month, but the bout was moved three times since, which brings us to present date.

Before Edgar attempts to see if he can find “The Answer” at 135 pounds, let’s take a trip down memory land to see one his biggest wins at Featherweight.

Back in 2015, Edgar took and fellow wrestler Chad Mendez in the main event of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 22 Finale. Mendes was coming of fa knockout loss to Conor McGregor, while Frankie was riding a four-fight win streak.

While many expected a wresting war, it was anything but as both men kept the action the entire fight. Through the first half of the opening round, both men were content with waiting for an opening as neither wanted to take a risk right out of the gate. That was up until “The Answer” clipped “Money” with a nice two-punch combination left during an exchange in the center of the cage, dropping the former title contender.

From there, Edgar pounced on his wounded foe, though ‘Big’ John McCarthy didn’t give the former 155-pound champion any chance to deliver more punishment by jumping in and calling the fight. Now, Edgar will look to make a statement in his debut at 135 pounds in hopes of climbing the ranks to possibly become the first man to ever fight for three different division titles inside the Octagon.
