In just 10 days’ time, Khamzat Chimaev moved to 2-0 in the UFC after mauling Rhys McKee on Saturday night at UFC on ESPN 14.

The Chechnyan born savage made quick work of John Phillips in his octagon debut on July 15 and then asked the UFC to allow him to make a quick turn around to compete again this week. Not only did he move down from middleweight to welterweight but Chimaev managed to earn an even quicker finish with a brutal ground-and-pound TKO to put McKee away at just 3:09 into the opening round.

After earning two wins quicker than anybody in UFC history, Chimaev sounded more than ready to do it again.

“I can fight after one hour maybe,” Chimaev said with a smile on his face. “If somebody is injured, I’m here. I’m going to smash everybody. It doesn’t matter. I’m going to smash everybody.”

Less than 20 seconds into the fight, Chimaev had rushed across the cage and taken McKee to the ground and the Irish prospect would not get up again.

Once the fight was on the canvas, Chimaev just hammered away with punches as he constantly looked to improve his position. Finally with McKee laying flat on his stomach, Chimaev unloaded with punches in rapid-fire succession that gave the referee no other choice but to stop the fight.

With two fights and two memorable wins, Chimaev has quickly become one of the most talked about prospects in the UFC. Judging by his demeanor, he’ll look for his third win as soon as the matchmakers can find him a willing opponent.
