Pedro Munhoz is the latest withdrawal from UFC’s “Fight Island” series after testing positive for COVID-19, sources told MMA Fighting following a report from MMA Fusion.

Munhoz was scheduled to co-headline UFC’s second show on Yas Island on July 15, welcoming former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar to the bantamweight division. It’s still unclear if the UFC will try to find a new opponent for “The Answer” on the same card.

Munhoz (18-4, 1 no-contest) was looking to get back on track after losing a decision to Aljamain Sterling in June 2019. The Brazilian 135-pounder went 7-2 in his last nine bouts under the UFC banner, including wins over Cody Garbrandt and Bryan Caraway.

Edgar (23-8-1) decided to cut extra 10 pounds to make the move to bantamweight following knockout defeats to Max Holloway and “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung last year. Edgar hasn’t won a bout since April 2018.

The Fight Night card will be headlined by featherweights Calvin Kattar and Dan Ige. The UFC has yet to announce which bout will now serve as the co-headliner.
