Yes, it’s a slow news day.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president, Dana White, is adamant that the much-anticipated UFC 249 lightweight title fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson, which is scheduled to go down on April 18, 2020, will still happen despite business coming to a halt for the next month or so.

Still, even if it means going to another country and staging the fight behind closed doors, White and Co. are determined to put on what is one of the most-anticipated title fights in the the sport’s history. And if it means going to the moon to prevent this fight from being cancelled a fifth time, then so be it.

Though, I’m sure that’s not the location Khabib had in mind.

All joking aside, yesterday’s reality may not necessarily be tomorrow’s, as imposed travel bans, city lock downs and worldwide restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic has made it difficult for the normal function of pretty much anything.

And since New York has already ruled itself s a potential host, UFC will have to work overtime if it plans to deliver this time around.
