Video: Wilder And Fury Exchange Shoves During Pre-Fight Staredown
Undefeated (42-0-1) WBC Heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder, will face off against former titleholder, Tyson Fury (29-0-1), on Sat., Feb. 22, 2020 inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada in one of the most-anticipated boxing rematches in recent memory.
The two men initially fought to a split draw in late 2018 in what was truly a highly-entertaining affair. Since then, Wilder went on to defeat Dominic Breazeale and Luis Ortiz via knockout, while Fury took out both Tom Schwarz and Otto Wallin in a matter of five months.
Now, the two big men will look to put on a repeat performance of their instant classic in hopes of finally bringing some closure to this rivalry.
Wilder and Fury came face-to-face earlier today (Wed., Feb. 19, 2020) during the pre-fight press conference, and to no one’s surprise, the big men jawed at each other before exchanging shoves.
The winner could be in line for another big-money showdown against current WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, who got back in the win column last December after defeating Andy Ruiz Jr.
The Wilder vs Fury rematch will go down the same day as UFC Fight Night 168 in Auckland, New Zealand. But by the time the two heavy-hitting brawlers make their way down the ring, UFC’s event should be wrapping up.
If not, I highly doubt DAZN will make Wilder and Fury wait it out, much like Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Sergey Kovalev had to do for Nate Diaz’s and Jorge Masvidal’s “BMF” title fight last November.
Much to the chagrin of “Canelo.”
