Blagoy Ivanov vs. Augusto Sakai added to UFC 250 in Brazil
Augusto Sakai will put his undefeated Octagon record at test when he meets Blagoy Ivanov at the UFC’s return to Sao Paulo, Brazil, on May 9, multiple sources confirmed to MMA Fighting following a report by Combate.
UFC 250 takes place at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo and airs live on pay-per-view.
Sakai (14-1-1) joined the UFC after knocking out Marcos Conrado Jr. on the Contender Series in 2018. The 28-year-old heavyweight stopped Chase Sherman in his promotional debut before scoring a decision win over Andrei Arlovski and a 59-second knockout against Marcin Tybura.
Ivanov (18-3, 1 no-contest), a fellow Bellator veteran, came up short in his UFC debut by losing a decision to former champion Junior dos Santos, but bounced back with wins over Ben Rothwell and Tai Tuivasa. The former WSOF heavyweight titleholder lost a split decision to Derrick Lewis in his last appearance in November.
